Who can join
- Eligibility
- Anyone who owns a website or blog and wants to earn money promoting brands can sign up as a publisher. The signup form's country list includes China. Public pages do not state an age requirement or distinguish individuals from companies.
- Website needed?
- Yes. You need an active website with a complete, valid URL (http://www. or https://www. plus a top-level domain) to submit your publisher application. CJ also advises a basic understanding of HTML or JavaScript to implement tracking code. Social handles can be added to your profile, and the Content Certification program requires a blog or social channel as the primary distribution model.
- Approval
- CJ's public pages describe submitting a publisher application but do not state network-level review criteria or timing. Advertisers review your applications to their programs and use your promotional methods to judge fit; some programs can be joined with a single click. The Content Certification program gives pre-approved access to some brands.
Fees & payouts
- Publisher fees
- Signing up is free. CJ says it will never request upfront payment or deposits from publishers via email or messaging apps. Withdrawal or other fees are not stated on public pages.
- Payment schedule
- Two payment runs a month: around the 20th (all currencies) and around the 28th (USD, GBP or EUR only). Commissions must lock and close first (closing around the 13th and 22nd); generally a month's transactions are paid the following month, depending on the advertiser's locking cycle. CJ cannot pay if the advertiser lacks funds. The cycle is automated and cannot be expedited.
- Minimum payout
- You set your own minimum payment amount in the account (Account > Administrative Settings); you are paid once your closed balance reaches it. The current lowest allowed setting is not listed on public pages.
- Payout methods
- Direct deposit or CJ's global payments partner Payoneer, which lets you get paid in local currency to a local bank account. Per-method fees are not listed on public pages.
- Payout currency
- CJ states over 150 currencies (the same page elsewhere says "dozens of payout currencies"). The second payment run around the 28th applies only to USD, GBP and EUR.
Tax & location
- Tax forms
- You must complete tax information under payment and tax settings; missing or outdated tax info can block payment. Specific forms and withholding are not stated on public pages.
- China-based publishers
- China is selectable in the country list on CJ's publisher sign-up form, and CJ pays in 150+ currencies via direct deposit or Payoneer, but it does not specifically address payouts or restrictions for mainland China publishers.
